Jennifer Lopez Just Stepped Out in the Shortest, Barest Manicure She's Worn Yet — See the Photos

If Jennifer Lopez is wearing it on her nails, we're paying attention. The musician, actor, and entrepreneur is always changing up her manicure and setting trends, but her latest look is a major departure from her usual long lengths and sparkly textures. In fact, it just may be the shortest, barest mani she's ever worn.

Lopez was out and about in Los Angeles on May 28 wearing a neutral color that is the absolute definition of minimalism. Instead of the extensions she often wears, Lopez's nails were au naturale and filed into a short, rounded, square shape. While at first, it looks like Lopez isn't wearing any polish at all, her nails aren't actually naked. She's wearing the subtlest, sheerest wash of pale, milky, neutral pink that almost exactly matches her natural nail color. Essie Ballet Slippers, is that you? Lopez paired the manicure with an equally low-key, day-off look including a swingy ponytail and rose lip, diamond earrings, and her wedding rings. Casual, chic, and totally unbothered... We're taking notes.

Celebs can't get enough of the sheer nail trend. The star has worn a few different minimal manicures this season, including her take on the shiny "lip gloss" nails popularized on TikTok, shimmery sheer "celestial" milk bath nails, and a frosted mani all glammed up J.Lo-style with rhinestone tips. The neutral mani is so versatile and customizable that the possibilities really are endless. While we have no doubt that Lopez and manicurist Tom Bachik have plenty more luxurious looks in the works for Lopez's packed schedule of red carpets and interviews, it's fun to see a more low-key nail on the ultra-glam star. Simple styles can make a big statement and basic doesn't have to mean boring — it can be beautiful!
