It's not often that you'll see Kate Middleton without her hair down in an amazing blowout or styled in curls that scream perfection. But on June 7, the Princess of Wales switched it up with a sporty ponytail for a game of rugby.

Middleton visited Maidenhead Rugby Club to talk about the Shaping Us campaign and, of course, played some rugby. She kept her game-day attire simple with a bright blue T-shirt, navy blue pants, and white sneakers. Her long brunette hair was styled into a tight, high ponytail. It wasn't slicked back, so you can see a few wisps poking out, which isn't shocking given that she was in the midst of playing a sport.

Even when her ponytail wasn't flying gracefully through the air, it looked luscious. You can see more of her flyaways and some of the light makeup she wore that day. Black pigment was blended out at the outer corners of her eyes for a rather subtle smoked-out look. A few coats of mascara and a lightly rimmed waterline completed her look.

Her short nails were painted with sheer beige polish. It's unclear which polish Middleton used, but it reminds us of Sofia Richie's own signature neutral manicure, which she accomplishes with two coats of Essie's pale pink Skinny Dip.

We're used to seeing Middleton's hair down, regardless of the style. The few times she's worn an updo, it's usually for an event, like the chic side chignon she wore with a large hat for a royal engagement in May. We rarely get to see the Princess of Wales with a casual hairstyle, so this ponytail was a treat.
