Jennifer Lopez Just Made the Half

Half-ponytails are everywhere right now. A versatile style that offers the best of both worlds, it's had a revival in recent weeks, thanks to a number of influential celebrities. An easy trend to re-create, it's the perfect hairstyle to take your look from day to night.

Jennifer Lopez is the latest celebrity to show off her take on the trend — although Lopez is no stranger to the half-up, half-down look. While recently she has favored a glamazon blowout or a slicked-back updo, the ever-glowy singer has worn bouncy half-ponytails for shows and events alike.

Her new take on the look came as she embarked on the press tour for her new Netflix film, The Mother. Resplendent in maximalist sequined leopard print, marabou feathers, and embellished tights (a Valentino look previously worn by Anne Hathaway at Paris Fashion Week), Lopez was impossible to miss — and her hair, styled with a sleek, mirror-like shine, complemented the more-is-more ensemble perfectly.

The half-ponytail trend was also big news at the Met Gala, where Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, and Rihanna all sported different iterations of the trend. Whether styled in tousled curls or polished and straight, the style is not only a chance to go wild with accessories, like bows and barrettes, but it also helps to show off your earrings — a bonus, we suspect, was not lost on Lopez.
